Buttermilk Biscuit Bonkers

Buttermilk Biscuit Bonkers

What drives the bastards that put aluminum into our food supply? They want to make a few extra pennies per package by using soluble aluminum salts instead of good old-fashioned cream of tartar?

OK, on to the evidence gathering portion of the blog. Here are some juicy references:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24236984 (This experiment prepared the rats by inducing dementia with aluminum chloride.)

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24234816 (This one used aluminum sulfate [aka alum] particulates to cause brain damage to rats. I guess it isn’t safe to breath pancake mix that you bought from HEB or Wal-mart!)

Wow, that didn’t take me long. I’m sure I could find you 10 more sources in no time flat, but I think you get the picture. 20 years ago, I had to argue with an M.D. who was claiming that despite the fact that aluminum was found in larger than normal concentrations in the brains of people who died of Alzheimer’s, there was nothing to be afraid of, because it had not been proven that aluminum was the causative agent. I guess times have changed.
