Actually, I’m not joking. I’ve been reading labels for years. Perhaps lots of people think that is a wacko thing to do, but in this blog I will explain why I do what I do, and why you should too.
Does fire care for your health? No. Nor does the food industry. Food companies are things, not people. Grocery companies are things, not people. Most human beings possess empathy and compassion for others. Corporations do not feel. Corporations have no more emotion than fire or firearms. Corporations are legal entities. Corporations are useful tools. But by their nature, the corporation itself cannot care about you. Know this as truth.
I’d like to give the people running these corporations the benefit of the doubt. Surely they must be ignorant, and aren’t purposefully attempting to poison the population. Surely the same people who own the hospitals aren’t also running the food companies. Do you see where I’m going with this? You can think up some really scary conspiracy theories if you think long and hard enough about it. But let us not over-think things. Let us just do what seems rational as informed consumers.
I want others to be as passionate as I am about changing things. I want more people to shop like I shop. I want things to change at the grocery store. That is the purpose of this blog.
The fine print: I will attempt to back up all statements I make with referenced scientific research, and any speculation or educated guesswork will be labeled as such. If there are any mistakes or typos or under-informed opinions, please feel free to contact me:)
